Analytical Reasoning
The analytical reasoning certificate is for students who wish to build the analytical skills they may need for graduate school, law school, or in a variety of chosen careers.
Sharpen Your Analytical Reasoning Skills
Courses in the analytical reasoning certificate range from discussions about ethics in various professions to philosophical perspectives on forgiveness. Learn how to analyze the ethical, social, and cultural problems we face today and approach a variety of issues with objectivity and open-mindedness.
Students interested in a career in law may find this certificate particularly useful. However, the certificate is intentionally designed so that you can pick and choose the philosophy classes that are most relevant to your interests and major — making it an excellent addition to any major.

Blugold Stories
While pursuing the analytical reasoning certificate, you will learn how to employ the tools of formal and informal logic to identify, construct, analyze, evaluate, and respond to arguments. Courses will demonstrate ways to clearly articulate your ideas and arguments in writing and speech as well as engage in self-reflection to remain open to alternative possibilities and conceptual frameworks.
